What are Coverguard Security doing to comply with GDPR?

As you may or may not be aware, the Data Protection Act is changing to GDPR. As of May 2018 GDPR will come in to place and all businesses need to take steps to comply with this legislation. Coverguard Security have always been very vigilant with data, and we were already doing a lot of the things GDPR specifies must be done, however we wanted to communicate to everyone what else we are now doing in order to ensure we are fully compliant with the new legislation. These things are:

If you wish to know what data we hold on you, please email paulam@coverguardsecurity.co.uk and this information will be provided to you within 72 hours.

If you wish for us to remove all information we hold about you (Right to be Forgotten), please email us at paulam@coverguardsecurity.co.uk and this information will be provided to you within 72 hours.

We have always only accepted reference requests in writing, however our reference requests provided as much information as was required. We will now only be providing confirmation that the individual worked for us, their position, and what dates they were employed.

We have created Privacy Impact Assessments, and these will be used wherever reasonably practicable.

We will shortly be adding our data protection policy to our website for you to peruse at your leisure.

We understand that these measures don’t actually come in to force until May 2018, however we don’t want to be doing these things only because we HAVE to. At Coverguard Security, we WANT to do the best by our stakeholders. As a result, we got started on working towards GDPR well in advance so that we could continue to provide the best possible service to all of our customers and staff alike.
